AppointLink Portal Suite
You may have heard of using Microsoft SharePoint as a collaboration solution but what about a Learning Management System or institutional portal? AppointLink Portal Solutions has created a suite of products developed specifically for higher education that wraps robust LMS functionality and a full featured portal into a single SharePoint MOSS based solution.
Our Portal Suite provides all users with one central location to access important information related to them. It allows departments with the ability to target content including announcements and deadlines to users based on their role (1L, 2L, Staff, Faculty, etc.), improving the overall delivery and effectiveness of the message.
For the Portal Suite's LMS system, we leverage data from your schools student information system to programmatically create course sites based on semester enrollment data, assign permissions and control accessibility. AppointLink Course Evaluation
One of the most important tools for gauging the effectiveness of a course or instructor is through the use of course evaluations. Evaluation results can be analyzed to improve the course in subsequent years, determine the quality of instructors teaching methods which factor into decisions regarding retention, pay increases and tenure. That's why the selection of a course evaluation utility is such an important one.
AppointLink's Online Course Evaluation application, based on APS data structure, is designed as a series of web parts that leverage SharePoint as its platform for content delivery and input. The APS data structure is a separate custom SQL database that interfaces with the institutions existing student information system.
The Course Evaluation application provides anonymous course evaluations and generates three specific reports along with individual responses. Students are verified using Windows or Forms based authentication and distribution and collection of evaluations will be handled within the SharePoint web site. The course evaluation system eliminates the ongoing survey fees associated with evaluations and eliminate the manual process of generating evaluation reports by providing real-time gathering and results.
AppointLink SP Web Exam
It's the end of the semester at major universities, a stressful time for both students and staff. For students, it's the obvious. For staffers, it's the distribution and collection of exams that wanes on their nerves.
Our Web Exam application puts minds at ease, providing students with an easy to access web application to download and submit testing materials in a variety of popular formats including .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .pdf, .wpd, .txt and .rtf. For staff members, the application provides powerful monitoring and reporting features such as date and time stamps for honor code acceptance, document downloads and uploads. It also features time-limit overrides and provides administrators with the ability to post materials on behalf of students, should an error in connectivity occur. A batch print utility automatically creates cover pages and double spaces .doc, .wpd, .txt and .rtf documents and can be printed to PDF or local printer.
seatGEN
Higher educational institutions across the country, specifically schools with professors that use the Socratic method of teaching, have been looking for ways to speed the development of student seating charts. Most colleges and law schools are using a manual process performed at the beginning of each semester. This manual processing of cutting and pasting names and photographs onto charts is cumbersome, slow and resource intensive.
AppointLink Portal Solutions web based seating chart application "seatGEN", leverages static or live enrollment data from the school's student information system along with existing student photos to allow users to easily create accurate photo-based charts that can be printed or saved in a number of different formats.
